100K Views

The "Right Now" thread has topped the 100K views mark tonight! Quite an achievement. The busiest thread on NodeBB's own community is at just 20K views, 20% of the Right Now thread!! To the best of my knowledge, this is the busiest thread on any NodeBB platform, certainly on any that I have seen - except for Afraid to Ask which imported its content from another platform and has much better SEO due to its very, um, graphic content. This is an awesome achievement. They have topped the 1.4m views mark on one rather racy thread, but with many fewer posts than here and much more time to get to that level. Here is hoping that we are able to catch them.

More than 30K views in less than a week now! The rate of views are increasing quickly, even with the lull from holiday traffic in the US!

Why would bots be reading that one thread? What is a "bot view?" It's not normal for bots to read threads. Posting, sure. There is financial reasons to have bots post to threads. But there are not reasons to have bots reading threads. And if there are, that's probably legitimate traffic (collecting site info for a group of humans to read in another way.)

Why would bots be reading that one thread? What is a "bot view?" It's not normal for bots to read threads. Posting, sure. There is financial reasons to have bots post to threads. But there are not reasons to have bots reading threads. And if there are, that's probably legitimate traffic (collecting site info for a group of humans to read in another way.)

Especially when you don't see it on nearly any other thread. It would seem odd that people would look at that one thread and vanish.

Ah, you mean a spider. Yes, Google, Bing, etc. are likely looking at the site from time to time as it is listed on them. But thousands of times per day is pretty unlikely.

We had the "Anything Goes" thread top 22K now taking it, as well, past the busiest thread on NodeBB's own forum!!

And today the same thread hits 250K views!! Wow. That gives us a pretty good metric on how long the first 100K took and how long the next 150K took, which was not too long!
