Freepbx - PJSIP trunks stop attempting to register
-
Hi everyone. Hoping to get some assistance with an issue I have. We are running FreePBX 13.0.194.2 and using pjsip for our trunks. Even though we have max retires set to 0, if we have an issue that prevents registration (an Internet outage for example) the trunks stop attempting to register after a certain number of attempts. When the Internet comes back, the trunks do not try to re-register. Am I missing something here? Is there another setting that needs to be set?
2018-04-16 02:30:15] WARNING[15782] res_pjsip_outbound_registration.c: Maximum retries reached when attempting outbound registration to 'sip:username@sipserver:5060' with client 'sip:username@server:5060', stopping registration attempt

Looks like a known issue that comes up sometimes with FreePBX 13.

FreePBX 13 is a full version behind. I've not seen anyone reporting this issue carrying forward to FreePBX 14. Might be worth doing the upgrade and seeing if that fixes things before digging deeper on the older system.

I have not found a solution for this myself.
Because of this I have had to revert to telling people to use CHAN_SIP for their trunks. -

Our FPBX13 boxes are on CHAN-SIP, so we've not seen it.

Yes it happens on updated FreePBX 14 systems also. I have not yet tested with anything higher than Asterisk 13 though.

Thanks @scottalanmiller and @JaredBusch. I will switch to chan-sip for now, and begin the upgrade process for ver14. Appreciate the help!

Upgrading to FreePBX 14 does not change your Asterisk version. That is separate.
