      Is there a way to disable auto switching of the audio device in Linux?

        Um.... Linux itself doesn't select the audio device. This is a much more specific question than about the kernel. My Linux doesn't auto-switch devices.

          Curious

          Here is the issue:

          Pithos running for Pandora - Audio Output fine.

          Plug in SignaLink usb soundcard for decoding signals on HF - and the audio settings change. Pithos tries to route audio to it.

          Due to this change - the computer can't key the radio correctly.

          If Pithos is running, and the Singlalink is connected, changing the volume will key cycle the radio (transmit/receive/transmit) which is not healthy on the radio.
