Trying to recover from SW still. So many meeting with prospective clients form SW!! Love my job!

Just found out my grandma is in ICU after breaking her other hip, having water on her heat, and now water on her lungs. The nursing home she was in was neglecting and abusing her, but she needs that kind of care. My family situation right now is...complicated to say the least. I'm going to start looking very seriously for something for a second job, as things aren't very good in my financial arena. It's been a hell of a morning, and I just want to go home and curl up under the covers and make the world go away...

I'm trying to recover from walking 44+ blocks in Manhattan last night while wearing the orange Spiceworks socks from the event. Those were so course my feet and throbbing still this morning and I am covered in blisters.

Hotel overnight shifts make for great second jobs because of the hours and downtime. Many gas stations have good extra shift options too.

I'm kinda hoping for a gas station. I need a 8Pm-1AM or something similar. As long as I get 5-6 hours of sleep, I'll live.

Chances are I'll be flying back to NY for a funeral before the year is up...:'(

Yeah, which won't work for me, unless I don't mind not sleeping, which is no longer an option.

Some hotels might have a "cover" shift to cover when things are busy. Gas stations might too, but gas stations, to the best of my knowledge, don't have a sudden surge in activity in a small window. Hotels do.

Yeah, a 5-hour shift might be ideal for some places. No lunch required, and it gives some extra coverage to a shift.

To be honest, I don't want to work there. Not because it's beneath me, but because once it goes from a hangout to a job, I lose my hangout.
