iDRAC

So, for NTG's server lab, I need to setup iDRAC on a Dell PowerEdge R510 server, with no OS installed. So far as I knew, the PowerEdge series servers had a handy little GUI, but there's no such thing to be found on here, that must be a feature on the newer series servers. All the configuration I can do on it is basically BIOS level, but there is an area for setting up DRAC stuff, and I've got a windows 7 Pro desktop as my connection point. I'm going to be setting up multiple of these in the future, but for now, I just want to set up this one. How do I go about doing such a thing on the server side, and what do I need to do to the desktop to have it work as the Management Console? Just to clarify, both the server and desktop are on the same LAN Network, same switch, and sitting in the same Server Rack, so things can be plugged and rerun and such.

The R620 has what we need. Perhaps the R510 does not?
In the meantime, keep looking into that but do the Ubuntu 14.04 install locally.

Is it the enterprise drac? I believe the basic drac does not have a lot of functionality. Also, are you certain the drac is updated?

I believe it's the basic one. @scottalanmiller we have a Dell PowerEdge R720 here, can that be used in the stead of the 510?

No, the servers all have specific purposes. The R720xd is exclusively for a CEPH project.

iDrac only, I'm sure.

Okay, fair enough. I'll learn the software/hardware inside out, then, and then figure it out.
