Is NextCloud already in 7 and the site is just out of date? Or is it a "yet to be updated feature" that is yet coming?

Of course! Take a look at this

Great. You probably know already, but NextCloud is doing an AMA here tomorrow.

NethServer seems to try for the all in one solution. Much like Zentyal is doing.

One thing I'm not seeing (may just be blind at the moment) is the option to configure it as a DC etc. Doing a brief search for nethserver and domain controller turns up that it appears NethServer is designed to be the only DC in an organization.

But that it might be something that is being worked on so you can have multiple NethServers in an organization.

Is this true, you should only have a single instance of NS running in an organization as a DC?

            That is its primary feature.

They mention the DC functionality under the email topic at one point at least.

Yeah that is what I saw as well, yet on their demo I'm not seeing the ability to look at the domain settings. Again I may just be blind this morning.

Edit: I do see DNS, DHCP etc. But I'm not seeing Samba or AD integration (as would be expected)

it sure looks very interesting. I really like Fax Server/IAXMODEM combination. I used to install Elastix before 3cx took it over. They had virtual fax integrated that worked really well. I know I can install Hylafax and iaxmodem on FreePBX, but this way it is easier and more elegant. Plus all goodness of other services 😉

You would not expect "AD Integration" as that would be what you see when you are a client of AD, rather than AD itself.

Right, so it brings integration as a new optional feature, I would expect, so that it is not the master in that case. But that's not what you are looking for, right?

I was looking for anything at all related to joining or creating a DC on their demo. I see that OpenLDAP and Samba tools are installed under packages.

I'm just not seeing any of the menu options (as I'd expect) if I were working on a system that is a DC (or joined to a domain).

Again, I may just be blind, but I'm just not seeing it.

Maybe I've found it.. digging a bit more.

"nethserver-dc" doesn't appear to be installed, which would explain why the demo isn't showing any of the items I'd expect to see.

                                    @DustinB3403 take a look at https://www.nethserver.org:8080/en-US/Account
                                    Supported providers are:

                                    • Local OpenLDAP running on NethServer itself
                                    • Remote LDAP server with RFC2307 schema
                                    • Local Samba 4 Active Directory Domain Controller
                                    • Remote Active Directory (Microsoft or Samba)

Please bear with us if the webui doesn't look so straightforward, we're improving it along the way
