      Office 2010
Local Documents affected only, very slow to open from only one folder...............

I can open XLSX and DOCX everywhere else on his computer and the network without issue, but it takes 20-30 seconds to open either document type from this folder.

If i move all of the documents from the folder they are in, into a folder on the desktop, works fine. now my question is this, the file path is CRAZY LONG, could this possibly be the issue???

C:\Users%username%\Documents's businessname Policies and Procedures\businessname Policies and Procedures revision 2013\businessname Strategies and Services Delivery Processes\businessname Record Guide\Section IV Implementation <------------------------ZOmGZ

I'd think it would just fail, but just thought to note that. Can you copy the files up closer to the root of his profile folder and call it something like test and have him launch from there. Honestly, not sure that it will make any difference, but figured since you are pretty close, why not eliminate that as a variable.

The file table might be corrupt or damaged.

Try running a check disk on it, or if you have the time and a copy (worth every penny to buy one) of Spinrite, run that.

He already tried that by moving the files to the desktop, changing the path.

So either the path length is the cause or something about the file table is broken.

Yeah, forgot that. I had a problem when copying project files from a network drive where the path was really at the border. So to move them to another server, I had to create a mapping to that location to shorten the file path and then it was able to do so.
