So I Got the Wii U
-
@Mike-Ralston So far it is pretty silly as a gaming console goes. It's generally a lot like the Wii but the portable game controller is pretty interesting. As a "living room computer" for casual users, it's pretty good. The complete lack of games is a major issue.
-
Yeah, the library seems to be almost as laughably bad as the PS Vita.

Worse. There is a title on the Vita that I want to play.
-
I'm going to attempt Wind Waker. I'm no Zelda fan but I keep trying to figure out what everyone gets so excited about.
-
Mario Kart will be good. But literally no games announced that look interesting that I have found yet. Pretty sad.
I'm not really into platformers.

And what title is that? Wind Waker is okay... The upcoming Zelda game is going to be all Open World, I'm looking forward to that. And if Nintendo ever let Bethesda develop a Zelda game... Will never happen but I can dream.
-
Zelda is a poor franchise. No plot, no history, no character development. Super shallow.
-
Shhhhhhh you'll upset all the Nintendo loyalists... I'm over Console gaming, period. PC is much superior in every way, really regardless of any argument a console fan wants to make, unless we're talking money or simplicity. I find that Zelda has cool mechanics occasionally and introduces new ideas. The graphics are subpar, the audio tracks are disappointing generally, the characters have no backstory really and it's hard to tell what's going on or why you're doing it. But I do have to say that the series never really makes you do a ton of grinding or repetitive missions. Decent games, but WAY over hyped. Nintendo just rides on it's name and it's built in customers now, really, and it's a big shame. Wish they did better for being one of the three main console manufacturers. For Wii U though, there are a few good titles, but most are just generation wide titles, such as Mass Effect 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution, and Trine 2.
-
All three I already have on the PC.
-
The Wii was pretty awful. Hard to imagine the Wii U being much better.
-
@scottalanmiller Which game on the Vita were you wanting to try? Considering selling mine for pretty cheap.

Whatever the Uncharted title is there. That's the only Sony-only franchise that interests me.
-
@scottalanmiller Ahhhhh, Golden Abyss, It's an awesome game, along with Gravity Rush, Borderlands 2, and Killzone: Mercenary.
-
@Mike-Ralston none of those sound too interesting. I've got a backlog of games that I really want to play. No need to play ones that are just mildly interesting.
I don't really need any more games. Got so many as it is.
-
Now that you've had some time with it, what is the verdict?
-
Still not very interesting. Tried to play last night and wasn't interested enough even after sitting down to start the game.
-
Wind Waker is a bit better than I had expected but it is still a bland Zelda game. Better than most, though. I'm on like the five section of the game now and the first real dungeon. My daughters are both enjoying watching me play that but don't want to play it themselves.
-
Picked up the download version of Mario Kart 8 today. Took hours to download and install, Nintendo needs to work on their bandwidth issues. Looks great and the five year old really enjoys it already.
-
So whats the best video game system? still only have a GameCube and 1 game for it. (I don't really play video games)
-
Well I've only played a few and overall there are NO games of interest for the system. Wind Waker for Zelda fans and Mario Kart really are the shining examples on the system.
