Had a difficult time finding any good CLI reviews from people... mostly just on the graphics (which look nice). Had a tough time getting my bearings on the commands.

Anyone have any good or gotchas about the OS? I've just been checking out Mint 18 (Cinnamon), Fedora 24 (I don't really like Gnome 3, would probably just install Cinnamon), and Solus 1.2 for a daily driver.

Yes, it is my third favourite Linux desktop OS after Korora and Mint.

@BBigford said in Solus OS any good?:

What do you mean? As long as it uses BASH (it does) it's absolutely identical to the other Linux + BASH distros. BASH is the only thing that matters at that point.

I was having a hard time getting it updated. I found online that it uses eopkg but when doing sudo eopkg update it wouldn't work, so I did sudo pisi update and it worked. So is eopkg or pisi the package manager I need to use when installing/removing things?

Yes, Solus uses a bunch of unique stuff. It's desktop is its own, as is its package manager.

I don't understand correctly though... do you not use sudo eopkg when installing/uninstalling stuff? You actually use pisi?
