      Hi,

I am looking for a missing logical drive in my Win 2012 HP server. We cant exactly tell how it was setup as the guy who did it is no longer connected to the company. I do however see a un-allocated space in my hard drive.

Is there a way for me to see if the data and drive I'm looking is in there?
Is there a log or event that will show how did we lost the drive F and when?

What is the drive config? Is it a single RAID array presented to the OS and you had multiple drives setup?

Not sure what your environment looks like, but if there was a chance it was an iSCSI drive that went down, you would have the iSCSI initiator running on that server. If you launch it and it says it's not running, you probably weren't using it.

How do you define "missing drive" in this case. How do you know about it?

Might be a hidden windows backup job thingy - have a poke around the settings for that

@scottalanmiller we have s scheduled backup than supposed to save on Drive E but it failed since drive E is missing. we dont know if its an external drive, map drive or local drive that suddenly disappears. is there a log that we can see it? we have the backup log that shows the drive gone missing 10 days ago.

Forget finding your E Drive. Instead plug in a USB drive or NAS and get a current back up. your business has got no back up for 10 days right now.

Maybe it was a removable drive that has been removed.
