Convenience comes at a price, sure they have the car starters now, next they'll have a way to hack into your front door at your house after stalking you on facebook and seeing you say "can't wait for my trip to Jamaica for the next two weeks". Harder to hack physical I guess...

No different than eighty years ago using those "high tech" key replicators used by locksmiths. The tools to bypass keys are the tools to bypass keys.

              Funny about that.

Recalled a story circa 2006 of David Beckham having not one, but two, high end BMW X5s stolen. One turned up to be driven by Macedonian government minister—

As a former BMW X owner, I'd not call them high end. We traded up to a GMC. Far higher end. BMW 3 series, high end. X, not so much. Horrible cars.

I would not call a GMC (or most any GM product) high end.

Definitely higher end than the BMW X series. The GMC is more reliable, handles better, drives better, is sportier and more comfortable.
