Yes
I have never seen them grow along a beach here because its too rough. We have plenty of them in the Lagoons, Bays and other intracoastal waterways.
Yes even in well developed beach ,it still has Mangroves..

We both like the beach but neither of us likes the warm beaches, we both like cold northern beaches.

I live too close to the beach sometimes. Especially during the Spring Break Season
