Or what is the "preferred" o/s to deploy on?
Hyper-V, ESX, or KVM all have native appliances. So one of those hypervisors.
We're talking KVM, which o/s "flavor" of KVM?

@Stuka says installation guides should be right on the page.
A vSphere guide is the only one I see on that page.

Uhm, KVM is a type-1 hypervisor. Pick any distribution you like, preferably one with KVM in the default repositories. Fedora Server or CentOS would be my first two choices.

Ubuntu also has it if you're not a CentOS / Fedora fan.

Thanks to everybody for your interest! One point so far... If you do like something about us - we're happy If you DON'T LIKE - please share. You have a great chance for your hate story to become a love story with a next release or so... Ping Max (he's StarWind VSAN Product Mgr) or me and trust me: I have a long (and full of nails) stick do deal with developers ;)))
