Just wanted to see what everyone is using their COLOs for and what made your company move to use a COLO?

I am reviewing some information on SFP modules and connections. I am not a guru when it comes to fiber modules and their protocols.

But I wanted to see if someone could explain to me the use behind a CWDM module and a Standard Base modules? I noticed that CWDM modules have multiple wave lengths, but I am not 100% sure what the use would be for 16-18 wave lengths.

Would a CWDM module be used for basic setup of fiber between two buildings?

I am in the market for a wildcard SSL. I am looking at some websites that say I can get them for 40-60 dollars a year where others are anywhere from 200-400 a year. Is there something I should be aware of?

I would suggest looking around on your switch, firewall, and MODEM for your ISP to see if there is any QoS things setup anywhere.

Make sure your ISP speeds are consistent. Also remember, ISP uses Mbps and where file transfer speeds are based on MB/s. One is data speed, other is file speed. So if you have 30Mbps upload you will only see a 3MB/s download on the file transfer speed.

Great info thanks! So does Single Mode only use a BiDi connector or can it use a Duplex? Same for Multi-Mode?
Duplex does the transmission TX and RX go in their own respective lines of fiber?
