@scottalanmiller OK, yeah. I'm sorry if I misled anyone. Just p***ing and moaning needlessly over saving my photos and music when it's literally a set-and-forget process when I pick the right tools. I should be backing these up all along anyway.

@scottalanmiller Fair enough. I can get that difference now. Especially in the current job where people lose their blessed minds over wording in email. Admittedly in my head, I wasn't thinking of it as protected, but as shuffled around so as not to lose it. So my mindset was fine, but the terminology was flawed.

@jaredbusch I do believe we're splitting hairs now, so forgive me for my "inadequate" terminology use. I will proceed to COPY my files to my USB sticks so as not to lose them when I basically annihilate my computer.

having a moral issue because I am going to have to convert my laptop to a coding machine, since my custom desktop doesn't have the space, it seems. Probably better anyway, to make me more mobile, but it's more efficient for me to basically reformat it, since it's been so slow. I just have a lot of sorting to do of pictures and music on the device. It's been my primary mobile media system.

So I need to back everything up, so looks like investment in a few 64GB flash drives is in my future to back all that up. and then I will have a Linux laptop. Never used Linux before.

currently pre-loading Star Wars battlefront II on origin. I'm very hopeful in regards to things they may have tweaked since the first new incarnation. People who prefer single-player don't deserve to be ignored.

Also playing a lot of Middle-Earth Shadow of War, because the new and improved version of the Nemesis System from the original game makes everything much more interesting. And unique. I love having a game where it doesn't feel like my enemies and antagonists are waiting for me to come kill them. Instead, a majority of them rope in their allies and come after me!
