      There is already protection for that, though. No need for patents.

      I am missing something here. What protection is there. Based on what I know, drugs get a patent just like everything else.

      As for Patents, those are a form of government control and a good one. It its not without its issue though.

      I'm not a believer in patents. There's some sound idea behind it.... if you invent something you should have some advantage. But you already have an advantage, making it a monopoly hurts consumers. Patents work against capitalism and free markets and all traditional systems. The idea that "writing something down first" makes it yours is a problem. Once in a while, we can justify it by example, but rarely. There is hardly a patented item ever made that I think worked out. The idea of patents has nothing to do with invention, but exists to make it essentially impossible for individuals and small companies to compete and to shift money to big companies and lawyers.

      especially when you make patents on things you aren't actually making...

      I see we were thinking along the same lines while cross posting. πŸ™‚

      Patents do have their issues, no doubt (can we say zmodem and rounded corners). IMHO, I believe having some form of protection for one's idea spurs further innovation. Putting a few billion dollars and many years into development of a product only to have it abused by another in one month is not a good thing.

      The system only needs a few changes but my main changes would be, shorter term limits and very short term limits for patents without some type of prototype.

      Seems pretty simple till you put Government Regs, FDA and lobbyists in the middle.

      It is. Because there is no free market, and it's all controlled by the government, but presented as a free market to confuse people, there's the worst of all worlds.... it's government controlled but without accountability or oversight or even nobles oblige.

      I agree with all three posts. Exactly why I threw in my last line. πŸ™‚

      As for Patents, those are a form of government control and a good one. It its not without its issue though. I do believe we need patent reform to stop the Shkreli's of the world.

      With regards to the article, if the insulin market is roughly $24 Billion, why doesn't one of our great US philanthropist Billionaires (Aka Bezos, Gates) throw about $300 Mil at a new company and sell it dirt cheap (just above costs) directly to the pharmacies and just solve the problem.

      Between the two of them, they could whip it up in about 6 months and proceed to use Amazon's distribution system to supply the pharmacies (via drones) in 6 hours or less. Heck, do the same thing for the Epipen. Two real world, in the moment, problems solved. Millions of parents save hundreds of dollars and millions of children living better lives.

      Finished all of Cobra Kai over the weekend, LOL Now I have no idea what to watch on Netflix.

      Just started Season 2 last night. Trying to slowwwwww watch it because I have nothing else either.

      So far it is not do darn bad.

      I liked it! I grew up watching reruns of the Karate Kid Movies (I'm young but not that young) so it was good to see the show.

      I was a big fan too. Watched it in the theaters ( I am that old! ) and convinced my mom to let me take a karate class at the local community college (it was cheap).

      I like the "memory" scenes and the blips from Johnny's childhood. Liking the backstory.

      Pretty interesting, thats for sure, Used to watch them with my Grandpa, who then taught me karate and Judo in the backyard for a few years, It was free πŸ˜‰

      I like how Daniel uses the same teaching style as he was taught, and how The tables turned and Johnny was teaching the kid to protect himself (more or less)

      Those twisties are pretty interesting. I especially liked Johnny's perspective from high school. It was Daniel being a PITA, starting a fight, keeping the feud going with the bathroom scene, and then taking his girl. Based on what we generally know about human nature, that fits perfectly.

      Right? Never thought they would go this high. I wonder if I should keep holding or not lol.

      Interesting isn't it. As for holding, how long is work from home going to last???? Even if there is a vaccine, is WFH here to stay? Those are questions I ponder myself. I want to say yes and ZM will be fine for the next long while. Trying to figure out there retention rate myself.

      My cost basis is around $60 so I sold around 10% of my holdings around $445 to get back my initial investment while I see what is going to happen. If after three days, it can hold, I will just buy back in and ride it to newer highs. Just wish I had bought more at $120 but it didn't "feel" right (see what emotions do! Grhh).

      Yeah I understand totally. I bought in at 73. I will probably sell soon as I got more out of it than I dreamed for sure and don't want to be too greedy lol.

      LOL I get that. I thought I was greedy by not selling when it was @ $165. Looks like holding was the answer. Now that its more than doubled since then, I decided to take some off. +30% overnight while at a prior all-time high, yeah, keeping a few of those bucks just seems prudent.

      I can't figure out if they are going to keep going up, split or something else lol

      LOL Welcome to investing!!!! πŸ™‚

      EDIT: One more thing, anytime I sell stock, I immediately purchase a call option. How many times have we bought a stock and it immediately goes down? How many times have you sold a stock and it immediately goes up? That is why for the past year, I just buy a call every time I sold a stock for a gain (in my IRA). Worked out like a charm on ZM, AYX, TWLO, ZS, LVGO, OKTA, CRWD and a few others over the past year.

      Want Verizon or AT&T 5G? You’ll have to buy an expensive unlimited plan

      5G technically doesn't cost extra, but it's only in the pricier unlimited plans.
      Verizon is adding some perks to its wireless plans this week, but some things aren't changing: Verizon still restricts 5G service to its most expensive unlimited-data plans. If you want to save money by getting a limited-data plan, you'll have to make do with 4G onlyβ€”which, admittedly, is not a big problem for most people given how sparse Verizon's 5G network is.

      Unlimited (Throttling) Plan

      Its like the Limited Lifetime Warranty on many products.

      Having one of those fun days after a client was bought and the company that bought them decided that they would move all of their IT to their internal IT departments. Yes, first, they have two departments for IT. And they have an internal person who "doesn't want to hear about it" who oversees IT, but refuses to be made aware of any outages, issues, or complaints. She directly said that she was not to be informed.

      One of their sites has been without working email for weeks. Their websites are broken and don't load. Their users are threatening to quit because they "have no IT support anymore". LOL

      Just, enjoying it all.

      Popcorn has an extra good flavor during this drama. πŸ™‚

      My issue with that scenario is the IT department is probably catching the shit from users while the "decision" maker is overlooked. On top of that, I'm guessing, there are a few IT people who know/want to fix the issues but have not power to fix them.

      The way cables are organized and distributed is very important.

      I have learned that the best way to have minimum affectation when a switch fails is to plug cables between patch panels and switches as follows:

      Patch Panel cables organization ---> Horizontal (port 1, port 2, port 2, so on)
      Stack Switches ---> Vertical (switch 1 Port 1, Switch 1 Port 2, Switch 2 Port 1, Switch 2 Port 2, so on)

      At the end you should have this:

      PP 1 Port 1 ---> Switch 1 Port 1
      PP 1 Port 2 ---> Switch 1 Port 2
      PP 1 Port 3 ---> Switch 2 Port 1
      PP 1 Port 4 ---> Switch 2 Port 2
      PP 1 Port 5 ---> Switch 3 Port 1
      PP 1 Port 6 ---> Switch 3 Port 2

      I like it like this (but without the blanks between):
      alt text

      Stacked switched don't have to be mounted next to each other.

      I like these two except when port 1 on switch 3 goes bad and the only open port is port 22. Then before replacement arrives, port 20 goes bad, old user on port 3 is gone, so person decides to use port 3 temporarily. Now temporary becomes long term and we can all see the future now. πŸ™‚

      Same goes for printers. If someone has to walk more than 3 steps to get to a printer, they complain. It blows my mind how much gets printed and then shredded. Or, better yet - printed, then scanned to a file, and then shredded. I wish I were joking. Paperless is a bad word among the people I work with.

      I could go on and on.....

      I have the EXACT same issue. What a huge waste of time and money.
