RE: Amazon Echo vs Amazon Dot vs Google Home
@scottalanmiller same here - the Echo is great. I use it for playing music, adding stuff to the shopping list, and asking stupid jokes

Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (not really a movie)
The new Krampus movie (soooooo freaking good!)
A Christmas Carol (I like the one with Patrick Stewart, though all are good)Krampus was good? In the so bad it is good way or was it actually really good?
I've heard from a couple people that Krampus was unexpectedly good.

On Android Webroot is great. iOS doesn't really allow any true AV so it's a moot point there.
Is it the same principle as the desktop version? More focus on what's running than on scans?
A lot of it is about anti-phishing (i.e. protecting you from going to a malicious website) and malicious apps (i.e. preventing you from installing something that is going to do something bad). The anti-phishing tech is the same as the desktop, but the reputation database for the Google Play store and other apps is unique to mobile.

RE: New Dell gaming laptop
This article has more details:
http://venturebeat.com/2017/01/03/dell-launches-4-inspiron-and-alienware-gaming-laptops-with-intel-kaby-lake-processors/GTX 1050 and i5 Kaby Lake.
With a 4k display, that graphics card isn't going to be able to do very high settings at 4k. 4GB also seems a little skimpy. Still, for $800 it isn't bad. Like @wirestyle22 said, do they need a laptop? Otherwise you could get better value with a Steam machine type box and hook it up to their existing TV.

RE: What's your favorite brand of bacon?
Applegate farms is awesome. Gluten free, and they use probiotics to preserve their meat instead of nitrites/nitrates.

RE: Webroot Blocks OpenVPN.net
@gjacobse so far so good. We've got the beta launched and under way. I threw out my back in Nov and it hasn't gotten better, so I finally went to get some physical therapy. Hopefully I don't have any horrible ergonomics at my home office

I'm more addicted to buying than to playing. No time to play but time to buy.
I had an idea for a game called "Steam Sale" where you collect games but never play them
Where have you been? That's been the game for years now.
Yeah but this would be a simulation that you can play - like Woodcutting Simulator or something.

@scottalanmiller thanks for pinging us
I am indeed at Automox now. We're building a community for our user base to share tips and scripts that you can run through our agent. Once the community is out of beta I'll announce it here so you can check it out. In the meantime if you want a trial of the product to check it out, let me or Richard know and we can get you setup.

Love This is SpinalTap!
It's pretty much my favorite movie. And if you haven't watched it with the commentary track, well you're in for a treat.

Are they still with their limited amount of packages or software?
Yes, but we're working on it. We're in the midst of testing for rolling out a bunch more. Our goal is to get our list to over 100 third party apps by the end of the year.

Finally finished up Witcher 3 - not sure what I'll start on next. Might go back and play some more Rocket League.
You could let Steam suggest one of those hundreds you have never played.
Steam suggests games? How do I find that feature?
I think it suggests one in Big Picture. I have BP set as my system default so I boot up and it just goes right into BP.
But if you go to steaminfo.db and sign in to your account through Steam, it will make suggestions too.
Ah that makes more sense. I generally don't have BP on. Good suggestion on the steaminfo.db.

Consumer Oculus Rift - $600?
That's way higher than I expected, especially after the pricing they did for the dev kits. I might wait a while before getting one rather than preordering:
