Another one I remembered. To get a good feel for the neighborhood, go walk around and knock on doors on the weekend and chat with your prospective neighbors. They'll give you a good sense of what the place is like.

I think the rule of thumb is 4 times your household salary is the upper limit for a house you can afford.

RE: Who Is Breaking Into My Steam Account
There is a huge amount of Steam hacking, and these are accounts where you've spent thousands of dollars in games. But yeah, they put banks to shame.

@Nic The home battery market...

I think Tesla's play is more on how to re-purpose used automotive batteries, which is still a good thing. The Powerwall is a great step forward for the Grid, but there are a lot barriers to make this an attractive market outside of California and Hawaii.

Prosumer market is a tough one. More consumers are shifting to laptops, and far less dependent on peripherals like printers or dedicated monitors these days. That brings to mind the question, why need a battery for basic home use? For people running dedicated servers at home, we certainly have the technology at the right price to keep you up and running. I think the prosumer market has been moving away from battery backup for a while and will continue to do so as technology advances.
Thanks - good answers. For #2, my main needs would be for brief outages or blips. It's nice not to have to worry about data corruption on my desktop/media server from a sudden power drop, plus being able to keep on using my equipment during a a short outage. The other need I have developed in my old age is a CPAP machine. If there's an overnight outage due to weather then I'm guaranteed a bad night's sleep. There are some products specializing in the market for CPAP machines, but I figured it might be nice to have one solution for everything that requires power in my house. Plus the specialized CPAP backup batteries seem overpriced for what they provide. Sounds like I'd just want to look at one of your pro models then.

RE: Looking for Online Backup solutions
Backblaze has a business offering, and former SpiceLord Aaron McCormack works there as a sysadmin.

RE: BackBlaze - Business Options Available
Dunno - I've pestered him a few times. They aren't on Spiceworks either, but that might be for cost. They do have a social media guy who posts on Twitter. I'll bug Aaron again now that there's a topic for their social guy to comment on.

Oh and video games
Those make me more stressed... cause I always loose.

Hows BB compared to CrashPlan, which is my all time favorite
I haven't tried CrashPlan, but I've been very happy with BB. They send you regular reports on your backups, so you know if your machine stops backing up for some reason. Restores were easy, and you can go in and grab individual files as needed.

RE: Community Management
That's good that you decline gifts, as they can influence you subconsciously.
Ideally you have separate people dealing with the two as it can be tough to separate when it's just one person.
