Have you checked if Thin Provisioning is on? I don't think that it works with lvm SR

Yes, I agree. You could just increase the ova size then extend the logging lvm to give yourself more free space.

Doesn't ova use 1 disk automatically? If you export/import a vm as ova that contains multiple disks (c,d,e) they all are aggregated as 1 ova file during the export/import. I thin it says so on XS and VMWare when setting up these operations. ovf will give you different disks for you

    • RE: Windows Phone Apocalypse Has Begun

Some of the WP10 updates broke things. There was one that left me unable to use any Hotmail contacts for about 7 weeks. They disappeared after one update, then a bit later came back wouldn't open and I couldn't use them to text/call/email people. Another seemed to lower battery life to less than a day.
Since late summer though there have been no problems I have noticed.

      @Dashrender
Well, I suppose there are some other apps, but I have no facebook. There are some of the old FF games available so maybe I get those, but there isn't even a banking app from anybody except Wells Fargo(at least not earlier this year when I checked), and due to recent revelations ill never do business with them.
Really cant complain, I paid 50 bucks for the phone and my service is only 30/month for unlimited text and talk with 2GB.

i use a windows phone. lumia 635, windows 10 upgraded from 8 last year. I like it because i can only text, call and get email. There are no other apps for anything else, so I dont spend 95% of my time staring at a phone screen while walking down the street or eating or sleeping.

    • RE: broken sysvol replication

I had these errors in the past as well; usually after something bad happened to a server, like a power failure or something.
My solution was to find a DC without errors(hopefully you have at least one of those), move fsmo roles to that, then demote-then-promote the DCs with the 13555 errors.
There is probably another way to do it; but IME using forcerepl didn't work.

Is there a cert for XS? I looked a bit ago and could only find ones for their XenDesktop and Xenapp products. I just thought they didnt have one for XenServer because it was free and they dont make money on it.

Are you getting Event ID 13555 under the FRS Application and Service Log in Event Viewer?
For more than one or more of your DCs? If so, you might have to do a bit of work.

    • RE: How Complete is XenServer Really

Im no Tobias Kreidl, but my experience with XS is great so far. I only have XO free right now so i cant speak to that, although it looks great and even the free version helped me solve some problem i had after live storage move failed.
I had a problem when i started here that had existed for years with storage timeouts; i fixed that and it really just goes now. It has live migration and live storage migration built in. Upgrades every 3 weeks or so. Lots of new stuff has been added since 6.2>7
Live storage migration dose mess up quite a bit though; it is best to shutdown a vm and then move the storage that way.

Long as youre not trying to do the usb boot thing and use lvm there should be 0 problems in my experience.

    • RE: Historic shopping mall converts to micro apartments

It would be good that new tenants wouldnt have to pay for new development/construction costs, the old shop owners have paid most of that already. So if good means you as renter/buyer pays less that is good for renter/buyer, but construction guy might disagree. If good means paying construction guy to tear down and rebuild everything, then that is good for him, but leads to higher costs for renter/buyer.
Obviously that is a bit simple; new place will need to be remodeled at the least, but there would be winners/losers with either choice

    • RE: More reasons to never do business with Intuit

I had to try and find a key for QuickBooks here, what a nightmare. Didn't have the login for their online site, and getting a confirm sent by phone was impossible due to them only being able to send text message to the registered phone on the account. Or an automated call. the phone is an ip phone that cant get texts and is answered by an attendant, so neither of those worked.
So I had to call them. Or it, rather. Had some very nice and unhelpful computer voice tell me to talk to it like a normal person. Not happening. Hitting 0 doesn't work. Infuriated, I hung up, and proceeded to search through years of old email to find the key. Eventually found the key in an old file folder in a file cabinet.
Really wish we could get away from it.

My guess is after though. I would be able to say for sure if there was any documentation for our XS infrastructure when i started. There wasnt.
