my Dad has a working 8" drive! He also has a working dual drive (5.25 and 3.5 in 1 drive). We just tested it about a month ago we were able to read a disk from 1994 that I think had my brother's term papers on it!

    • RE: To replace or repair

I liek Mitsubishi. Personal expereince, we have a Mitsubishi split unit for one of our "telco" rooms at one of our offices in Buffalo, NY. Installed in 2007 So far only 1 major repair (blower motor on outside unit failed in 2013, repair approx $1500 if I remember correctly) and we do yearly maintenance with our current HVAC vendor as part of a overall service contract (don't have cost in front of me). Unit has served us well. We moved the equipment out and into a real data center last year so the load on it now is rather light.
with HVAC its always the installer or company and not so much the unit. Try and get several quotes you will find a vast difference in prices and services offered. Check out sites like HeatingHelp.com (the forums are kinda like a MangoLassi for the HVAC crowd)

Slept on the Little Rock when I was a Boy Scout. They still offer troops an overnight experience so one the kids are old enough I have a feeling I'll be back there.

I am in a similar boat. My ISP will only hand-off single mode LC at our co-location facility. I'm looking at Allied Telesis myself:

Contract review with the carrier provider we do not dare speak its name. Unfortunately I'm just the tech input our VP of Carrier Services is actually handling the negotiating part. I have a feeling my documented cases of outages (or is it outrage in this case??) may be enough to get a lower price but not enough to switch.

    • RE: What Avaya Has to Teach Us About Closed Source

Seeing as I work for an Avaya Reseller/Partner, this is not good. I've tried to convince management we need to go into a different direction (as in selling and supporting open source solutions) but seems to fall on deaf ears.

Legit queston as I'm still a noob and going through @scottalanmiller Linux courses. Could you do port knocking in addition to IP locks, GA, and SSH key/passphrase for almost 5FA at that point?? Seems like all of those would be a hard to beat system.

Bridges are crazy busy this summer, we've avoided going to Canada just cause of the wait times. Over a 1/2 hour one day at 7:30 AM, usually its a couple minutes at that hour.

    • RE: Outlook 2013/2016 Cleanfreebusy

For our on prem S4b with Outlook 2013/2016 I have actually rebuilt both the Outlook profile and Lync/S4B profile when an individual user has this issue and that works every time. Something within the profiles get corrupt and I have never been able ti pinpoint exactly what; by rebuilding both the issue gets resolved.
Also check your certificates make sure you don't have an expired one on the users local machine (check your domain cert from your AD domain's CA if running on prem)

@fuznutz04 Good luck with that, been fighting ComCrap for now 2 years to get them to bridge one of their devices at one of our remote offices (and we have a 3 year contract they still have not delivered properly!!). Just get the dynamic IP and use dynamic DNS, well worth the lack of hastle.

    • RE: Considering Colocation - What to watch for

Verify that the dimensions of the rack you are getting will hold your equipment!! We are running into an issue with our colocation facility where 2 of our older Dell's rails are deeper that the edge of the mounting rail and that smack right into the PDU's. If you need extended depth be sure to ask for it and GET IT IN WRITING ON THE CONTRACT before you sign.
That having been said, we are using Centrilogic for our colocation facility in Buffalo and they have been very accommodating even with our depth issue. They have 3 data centers in the GTA including Mississauga. I can get you contact info if you want it.
