i7 has higher clock speeds, larger cache, and Hyper-Threading. Unless your applications can use Hyper-Threading there's no reason to consider i7
i5 has hyperthreading, doesn't it?
Nope. i3 and i7 do. That's why i5 are so popular for gamers, games mostly don't utilise it

Interesting, on the website, the included apps are the same.
They include the same apps but some of the rights are different:-
RDS isn't virtualization though - at least I don't think it is.
This is how Microsoft describe it in this context, including which plans it's available on:

RE: Office + RDS + Citrix + Licensing = Confused
@hobbit666
I don't see any official mention of "basic Office", look at the O365 plans and Office includes all those packages. If you want Office you need to license as above. -
RE: Office + RDS + Citrix + Licensing = Confused
If a user needs access to any part of Office they need one of the plans listed on that website or a volume licence for Office per machine.

@jackcpickup You are also facing the same issue?
Nono, I'm saying to Scott that mine is working as you are expecting it to.
All I sometimes have to do is remove the .com/.co.uk etc. that FF recommends some times with delete, then search for what I'm after.
-
RE: Browser Issue
@scottalanmiller said in Browser Issue:
Firefox doesn't work that way. There is a separate search bar on FF. It's just a matter of misusing the software. It's not Chrome.
Mine works the same as Chrome.
@lakshmana said in Browser Issue:
There is an issue seen in the Mozilla Browser where i am typing "shiva"means its redirect to shiva.com where the same is searched in the chrome browser where the google search goes for it.Help me on this browser issue
As you're typing "shiva" is the address bar recommending the rest of it? If you've been to the website before it will suggest the website as you start typing, you should be able to clear the .com and it'll search with your default search engine.

Okay this is infuriating... Just sent an email not more than 10min ago..... O365 / OWA has signed me out..
(series of words moderated due to content)
OMG I hate O365's sign in problems. MS just can't figure out authentication.
Maybe it's suppose to,.. but @Sodium is kicking me out as well...
I'm off now but was wondering if you're using session-based load balancing on your router for multiple WANs? That can cause these symptoms on HTTPS sites as your single session will be going from multiple public IPs.
-
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@gjacobse got load balancing configured on your router?

Was that on the Steam sale this month?
Think you'd already have it if it was

RE: What is everyone using for basic ticket management these days?
@scottalanmiller unfortunately we have staff who struggle with multiple Teams channels so I'm trying to consolidate systems as much as possible

I mean we do, but not a KB tool or something in a ticket system.
What do you use? We're holding documentation on a Teams channel as an interim

RE: What is everyone using for basic ticket management these days?
@scottalanmiller as an alternative, and I've not looked yet so bear with if it's obvious, do you know if it's simple to transfer tickets to the knowledgebase?

For NTG, does the Manager/tech creates a ticket? I can imagine for some users when there is a problem, they might call and that time the tech could create a ticket but usually its the customer who will be creating the ticket right?
Really, at NTG everyone makes tickets. I personally make them by the truck load. Often for myself, which doesn't cause problems. I like to have a ticket for every call, meeting, change, etc. Good for searching on stuff and looking things up. I use ticket lookups constantly.
Our most typical process is for a customer to email or call and whoever gets the call to open a ticket. A lot of times, though, it is a known issue that someone is putting in a ticket for before the call comes in. Hence, easily two tickets.
I'm setting our first helpdesk up at the mo and my thinking's the same, I'll be making tickets for as much as possible within reason.
How is the search function in osTicket? Can you search for keywords in ticket content?
