As an employee I think I a would be more annoyed seeing and hearing my company's own commercials at work on a constant basis.

I'm fine with this. Everyone gets screens and batteries replaced from questionable repair shops and the phones never work the same again.
Just because you're fine with it. Does it mean people should lose the ability to repair their own devices? Should the manufacturer of a vehicle only be able to work on that vehicle and solely corner the market on parts?

What is the point of being hired as an IT professional and having to explain yourself for something so trivial?
Micorsoft and Apple are known competitors. It should be common sense that their software doesn't work well with each other.

Give the guy a break. I bet he is 13 or 14 years old. He is not doing anything malicious at this point.
That doesn't excuse or legitimize the behavior. A scumbag is a scumbag.
You can't expect someone that young to understand proper etiquette. At least he is trying to do something for himself and he isn't on xbox live calling everyone fags like most kids his age....

I've updated desktop icons to change the Target URL many different times and it has worked great. Is it possible to rename them? It looks like the GPP uses the Name as a reference when updating.

I need to upgrade a Windows 7 PC to Windows 10 today. I would prefer to do everything remotely rather than going on site. Is there a way to automate everything? I have only done one previous Win10 upgrade.
I upgraded an entire office of 11 computers remotely. You can certainly do it.
My process:
- Make sure mahcines are up to date with Windows Updates
- Setup ScreenConnect access session
- Disable permission request for the access session groups
- Download the current upgrade version from the Media Creation tool to an ISO file
- Save ISO on a network share
- Backup users with Veeam Endpoint Backup to a NAS just in case
- Open ISO over the network share (or copy local both work, your choice)
- Run setup.exe
- follow the prompts, tell it not to check for updates, keep all files
- It will eventually go offline in ScreenConnect but once it finishes and comes back to the point where you can choose express settings, ScreenConnect will come online.
- Complete upgrade
- Profit
I shouldn't have any issues using VNC (It is on our network) then.
If the NC service properly loads, then yes, you should not have any problems.
I first tested this while I had physical access just in case...
Worst case scenario I can walk next door.
