Did some research on getting a 3D printer. But decided not to bother as once I've used it to print a few things we wouldn't use it again

I am asking technology wise aswell
. Why would you need such speakers when doing video editing? Is it for better sound quality instead of just using plan old speakers? -
RE: Video editing - suggestionsposted in IT Discussion
those little Mackie monitors are pretty sweet for the price. I'm looking at adding a pair to the current recording studio setup (or maybe the next size up).
Can I ask what purpose these "monitors" have in video editing, as when I googled then thinking they were Monitors lol I found they are speakers .

I have never tried GPU passthrough before on KVM. Here's some info from a Proxmox point of view but it shouldn't be too much different with your chosen Linux distro and KVM.

You can use virt-v2v. I believe @JaredBusch used it when migrated a Hyper-V VM to KVM.
If possible, I would migrate the data over instead.Looking into it i only really have 400G of data on a plex server so will just backup and and create all new storage and VMs
Another option is to use Proxmox
What's the difference to this and KVM? is it just a all in one box like ESXi/vSphere?

RE: What Are You Doing Right Nowposted in Water Closet
Is there a "migration" path to go from ESXi to KVM? Without the need to format the storage, or is it advised to backup and re-create all VM's and storage?
Also what are people using for their base KVM, Fedora/CentOS/Ubuntu?Think it's time to move the home lab to it. Also i want to do Hardware passthrough (namely GPU) and looking it seems to be better in KVM)

I have no idea really but one thing that springs to mind is what sort of Video editing.
Is it going to be simple cut videos and merge them together with some fade in and outs and star wash effects
or are we talking full on Colour correction/cropping out/Special Effects etc.As i think what they want to do will send you down the correct GPU path.

Been trying GeForce now, running on a Switch via Android.
So far so good. Only tried Sega Sonic racing , and Batman Arkham (i think it's that one).
In the UK having much better experience playing early morning/afternoon. Once it get later in the day the queues for rigs hits 3 figures.

@openit said in Window server standard edition on Hyper V- means two Wins VMs ?:
I don't want to go with Hyper-V as base, I was using earlier for other thing, I had issues of connecting to server with Hyper-V Manager on windows 10, it was working and after few days different issues.
For this i use 5nine Manager, works every time for me with Hyper-V hosts.

So just to throw another option into the mix:
https://www.virtualhere.com/Basically a usb over IP... one of the guys at work was playing around with it, seemed to work OK, should be sufficient for label printing and would eliminate the concerns surrounding 3rd party print servers and driver updates.
In theory they are good. But in practice i've never got something like this to work 100%
I've only never tried using one of these https://www.startech.com/uk/Networking-IO/Print/usb-print-server~PM1115U2Printer kept going offline for no reason.

Which one? We own all the Sonic Racing games. They are awesome.
Not sure it's one that you get for free. Will have to look once I go back on (when the switch charges up)
