Really like that graphic, did you create it?
Alas no, it was purchased and the logo added on.

Aetherstore in the real world
Re: NTG Partners with AetherStore!
So I remember getting excited about this product when it was on beta, never used it but heard good things.
@shannon reached out recently on Spiceworks and it reminded me I needed to try this out properly.
So 2 months after this bit of news, my question goes out to current Aetherstore users.
- How resilient has it been? When has it broken or failed?
- How does it perform speed wise?
- Ideal use cases for you?

Dara IT - Website ReFocus
Bit of self promotion has to be done now and then.
Recently looked at what was being said, how it was being said, so cleaned it up a lot to make it even easier for new/existing clients to find out what we do.
Thoughts and comments are appreciated.

RE: Most SMBs Will Go Out of Business Within Six Months of Being Hacked
Lies damned lies and statistics
What defines a "hack" - What defines a security breach?
https://www.staysafeonline.org/ncsam/resources/3-reasons-hackers-love-your-small-business-infographicI jumped onto the source of the stats but could not see how they are measuring this.

RE: HP response time
I really don't believe in dragging things out like that but when it comes to the vendors.
Received an email from HP at 17:41 Friday, apparently they tried to contact by phone, was told to send an email to support quoting a case number.
7 Business days since contacting support, no sign of it being sorted quickly, It's actually cheaper now to buy a unit from another vendor/reseller and get a refund on this unit.

Not any real way around that though without making yourself do a lot of work always having to click to download images.
Isn't this what we want our users to not do though?
Right click copy the URL, then check the site on google, never ever ever open a suspicious email link. At the very least, you've told them the email is monitored and could receive more targeted phishing, at the worst, there is a drive by exploit which infects the machine.

I've got some that were similar, I looked at the site and it looked more put together and more real. I had a hunch but just wanted to make sure. Thanks.
Your drive by rootkit is now installed, have a nice day
The other thing you have done, is sent a tracking message to the spammer to say the email address is monitored.

RE: Who to Connect with and How to Manage Multiple Networks on Social Media
@scottalanmiller said:
Agreed, but any business using an unmanagable channel as their primary communications seems... flawed. No ticketing, no tracking, no ability to assign or store or hand off.
But there are plenty of tools to manage it, audit it, track it, do hand off, ect. - If you do it amateur hour style then yes you get problems but if done correctly, it can work.
@scottalanmiller said:
Would anyone consider an MSP that uses Facebook posts as tickets to be worth talking to? if so, would they be a viable business? I'm being serious, this is like "business for twelve year olds who can't even".
Probably not MSP, but in other markets, sure.

Why would they choose a tertiary communications method instead of official ones that can be managed, monitored, etc.?
That's the thing, you decide if you want it to be tertiary or primary.
Do you want to log Facebook chat as a ticket? You can do that now, respond in your ticket system and it responds in chat. Someone tweets at you? Messages you? You get a note then respond to it.
Whether it's good or not is up to each business.

RE: HP response time
It's not Apples to Apples, I am specifically talking about non Hp/Dell/Lenovo and talking about whitebox machines
They've lasted as long as the branded equivilants
The price is a bit more, but the benefits are bigger.
The support value is huge.
-
RE: HP response time
The choice is very poor in the UK, it might be better in the US market.
The whitebox vendor can beat that price, for better spec, with a pro OEM license, for £150 less.
-
RE: HP response time
Dell are a bit better than everyone else, but everyone is falling apart.
The only exception is a local vendor in the UK I like, they do whitebox systems, with warranty, on site engineer, ect.
Price is a bit more than the HP/DELL systems, but they come with no bloatware, no malware, installed as you want, put together really nicely.

RE: HP response time
Bought from HP direct.
Why did I do it...why!!! Silly silly me.

One of those "made for kids" tablets?
Wicked tight web filter?
Web filtering is not the only feature missing
- Time lock for user accounts
- App control
- Plus other features
Better parenting?
Children are not the only possible use case for this

Alternatives to Microsoft family safety
Anyone have any suggestions for Windows 10 alternatives to family safety?

RE: Publicis helping 90 promising digital projects and start-ups through funding
It's a great idea but why do web designers have to create an agonising user experience
- It's art over anything else sadly.

RE: Is there any discounts on webroot for ML users?
On the other hand.
Considering Webroot is cheaper than a lot of what is out there
Do you really need the discount.
