      Hello all,

      I have an employee who posted an inappropriate status on the Skype for Business client and will not remove it. HR has requested that we administratively remove the status message while they deal with the behavior. I have looked all over for a way to accomplish this, but can't find anything. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? We have an on-prem Lync 2013 deployment with the Skype for Business 2016 client.

      Thank you!

      As per below, only the user has control over it.

      Still working on it.

      Does it take that long or are you setting up the VMs and configuration?

      More like over dramatizing it because it is not his preferred platform.

      I was just assisting, actually took that long. Kept running into authentication problems. Environment does not have AD.

      I've got a blog post for that... it makes it super quick and easy (well, considering the fact you even have to worry about doing that stuff to begin with).

      Links are helpful for the rest of us. 😄

      Looking into setting up QOS on Sophos UTM for VoIP. It looks a little more involved than I would have thought.

      UTMs always are 😉

      I think I did it. Not sure I did it right. I also disabled - Intrusion Protection / Anti-Portscan / Anti-DoS/Flooding TCP / Anti-DoS/Flooding UDP / Anti-DoS/Flooding ICMP for those services to the networks of the provider.

      Well, that means no protection services that so basically you don't need an UTM.

      Working on a File Server Migration.

      @dbeato I've got mine coming up on New Year's Day. How are you doing yours?

      Since this customer did not need DFS, I setup File Migration Toolkit and migrated it via Robocopy, It finalizes the migration after the amount of delta copies you want and then closes the shares on the sources server and enables it on the new server. The permissions are also migrated as well.

    • Reverse or Forward Proxy Setup

      So I have been working on a server that is running FreeBSD 7.3 which has been hosting a site for quite sometime. I was brought up to check and secure it as much as possible. I have setup the site with an Nginx Reverse proxy which is working properly.

      Now the bigger problem is an authorize.net soap request that uses the Authorize.net API, this server has OpenSSL 0.98 which doesn’t support TLS 1.2 due to also the OS being out of support. What I have setup is a Forward proxy with Squid or Apache and both end with the same error of the Client being not supported even though is using the other Server as a proxy.

      What I want to know is, am I right to think that regardless of what Forward proxy towards authorize.net the issue will be still the original client not supporting tls 1.2? Have any of you run into a similar situation and what do you recommend?

      Post coming up about upgrading Zimbra from Ubuntu 12.04 to 16.04. Thanks to XOA and XCP-ng I don't have that many headaches as backup and restores worked perfectly.

      You have to make a separate firewall policy for each computer using RDP.
      I have 40 users. Some of them refuse to use vpn so i have setup RDP this way for awhile.
      It certainly isnt practical.

      Oh, you are using a VPN to make port mapping more easy, not for security?

      You don't use RDP config files for the end users? Even for hundreds of users, it's pretty trivial to have them click on the icon to log in.

      You can also use an RDP Gateway for this.

      Just as a heads up on this, to be able to use the mobile app you need to add websocket Support to the Ngnix Reverse Proxy configuration as below:

      location /websocket {
              proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:3000;
              proxy_http_version 1.1;
              proxy_set_header Upgrade websocket;
              proxy_set_header Connection upgrade;
          }

      So what is this SSL for a website or just shopping around?

      Just shopping around... but, I tried a different browser. It was showing USD but the currency was not correct, I checked back after looking at Chrome and it was showing Icelandic kr. Lol wtf

      Starts a $99.99 the first year and then renew is $199 a year. Most of the sites I have been securing are in Let’s Encrypt or Cloud Flare.
