They have kettles you can boil from your phone as well, I just think its all over the top..still got to make the drink yourself, so might as well boil it yourself....

@jaredbusch does your standard rate include travel Jared?

No, because we don't travel (says the guy that drives to St Louis once a month).

Having someone local show up on site is not traveling.

Having someone drive a couple hours, is a different story. but we don't generally do it.

I can see this makes sense if they are local, how far is your furthest client?

Having a read through the forum, in quite a bit of pain as broke me ankle in 2 places a few days ago, cannot sit at me desk. Having to just constantly lay up on the sofa, it's already driving me mad....

And before anyone asks how I managed to do this, I managed to fall backwards in the local boozer šŸ™„

Just currently looking at using prestashop to create a couple of e-commerce websites for clients.

@scottalanmiller how would you update and install packages without dnf, I use Ubuntu and would be weird if they removed apt...
Is there a separate command for kernel and repos updates?

@dafyre Another thing I detest is this windows as a service crap.... All I need is Security updates...
Not for your default pdf reader or browser to be reset when windows feature updates have been installed, and yes you can ignore, but it will soon keep telling you to install it. Lets not forget they are moving everything about and changing the OS in stages (control panel) for example, some bits here some bits there.....It's just a mess at the minute I think....

Microsoft are doing so well with their 365/Azure platform, but I believe they have got windows 10 so wrong.... I just don't see this getting better at all.

Anyway, hoped you all enjoy my love for windows 10 šŸ™‚

@dafyre Starting to feel the same way, when I do fully move over, I will probably go over to Deepin, quite like where that distro is going. I feel it's just a shame about Windows 10, they had everything so right in Windows 7. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice features to windows 10, like the improved task manager and the right click start menu shortcuts to device manager etc..but that's about it......

Why do Microsoft feel the need to tell us what browser to use? didn't they get in trouble with this years ago regarding browser monopolisation. I just don't think there is any need for it..

    • RE: Web hosting: today's recommendation

Name put aside, it's just what I've known it as, I also use ISPconfig on another VPS, I think both web panels just work and have no issues with either.. I've used cpanel/whm many times in the past and quite like cpanel but just chosen to use what I use, obviously if you don't want to worry about updating your VPS and don't want the hastle then just use regular web hosting.. I'm just stating what I use in the thread and by no means giving advice to use what I use.

@jaredbusch I had an olivetti 486dx2 66, it was grey and I'm sure it had a turbo button on it, defiantly didn't have that much ram in it though.

@obsolesce I know most machines have over 4gb of ram these days, but still nice to see a lower footprint..
