What kind of infrastructure are you looking to remote into? How large is the environment? Is it running Active Directory?

My understanding is that you can only do VM backups with that license.
This is a VM I am trying to connect to...
Are you connecting to the platform or trying to connect to the VM itself? If the latter, you are treating like it is physical and that is what you can't do.
What you do is attach to VMware and backup that way, you don't attach to an individual VM.
He's on Hyper-V

@alexntg Character name or account name?
Yes. When they mentioned that account names would be semi-visible, i made one that I could match to the character's name.

On the plus size, in exactly half-an-hour I'll be meeting my wife and kids in the beer garden of our local pub and enjoying some real ale and sunshine.
Interesting mention of your wife and plus size in the same sentence. Are you trying to land in the doghouse?

Uh oh. Lost password?
If she did, I don't think she'd be able to reply to that question.

RE: OpenSuse Driver Plugins
This has been dragging on long enough. If replacing the PC isn't an option, add in a different NIC. If replacing the PC is an option, replace it.

RE: Disk2vhd and VirtualBox woes
If it boots in Hyper-V, you could then P2V it to your heart's content.

RE: Disk2vhd and VirtualBox woes
Surely you must have a server somewhere you could use?

RE: Disk2vhd and VirtualBox woes
Well, that's unfortunate! Try spinning it up in Hyper-V.

WMware vCenter Converter won't work with .vhd. "The file you selected is not a supported source."
You need to P2V the machine while it's running.

I Googled VMware Converter and can only find this: https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info/slug/infrastructure_operations_management/vmware_vcenter_converter_standalone/5_0
That's the one!

Arrrg...The big G is showing all downloads from vCenter and the same goes for the download page on Vmware's download site.
Could you rephrase that? I'm not sure what you meant there.

RE: OpenSuse Driver Plugins
Someone's got to ask this, so it might as well be me... Is this for use at a college radio station?
Seriously though, if you use a different distro, perhaps Ubuntu, via a live CD, does it find the network card? Broadcom's typically very multi-OS compatible.

RE: Disk2vhd and VirtualBox woes
You could use VMware converter to make VMDKs of it, then bring it into VirtualBox that way.
