I did it on other media just to test, it's installing packages now.

What about testing with the templates too, he's having issues with both.

I let it install last night. I don't have any issues at all. I had a Gnome 3 desktop and was able to run applications fine. I'll try a template when I get home.

I'm using XO not XenCenter, so I don't know whether that has any weight on the VNC session or not.

Do you have the latest service pack installed?

I've had issues with XenCenter and CentOS 7 in the past where the installer said it couldn't find a VNC session and was exiting and just hung there. Not had these problems with XO.

One person said if they exit XenCenter and come back Anaconda was running

Ah, maybe the issue is XC, that makes sense.

I never looked into it, but can you allow outside connections to use VNC like you can with KVM?

Ah looks like you need to create an SSH tunnel.

KVM is pretty easy. If you're using Virt-Manager you can let it choose or set the port and add a password if you want. Then just add the firewall rule.

That's for Spice. Having Spice set up in XS would be nice.

Same with VNC, you just change it from Spice server to VNC server.

On second thought, maybe I don't need a GUI in the console. Would something like VNC work ever if the console is crashing?

No, if the console crashes there is nothing for VNC to show. All VNC does is show the console.

but if you are asking if VNC works when XC doesn't, sure. That's what was being described above is that the issue might be purely XC and that the console is actually fine.

I'm building another one from the template. I'm going to use it as my NX server so I'll let you know when it finishes if I have any issues.
