How to remove EFI partition from MAC
-
Today I tested Windows 10 on my iMAC as bootcamp, just to see how this runs on a mac without using virtualisation. Installed, configured and boot up. After Windows installation, and after login, you need to install the bootcamp drivers to detect sound, bluetooth, wifi etc. So I installed the drivers and during the drivers installation, got the sweet bsod!
Restarted the mac, checked again but Windows got corrupted for some reason, did a refresh and tried the bootcamp drivers again, ended up with same BSOD. Seems like bootcamp drivers are not compatible with W10 yet, at least the latest build. Now that, it was not working, I wanted to remove the partition, but unable to do so. After booting to MAC, disk utility says it cannot modify the EFI partition, and a search got me this. http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,14019.0.html
Never knew that disk utility has an advanced option. Followed the procedure and was able to remove all partitions and keep the MAC as 1 single partition as it used to be! Will wait or the public release of W10, again to test on bootcamp!
