2008R2 VM won't merge - will export fix this?

I've got an old VM that has been ignored and the drive it's on ran out of space. Right now it has 3x AVHD and 1x VHD files, only the AVHD have been accessed recently. After freeing up disk space and powering off the VM it did not merge them all back together.

Am I correct in thinking that an export of the machine will get me back to 1x VHD file?
