Video Editing in Linux

Good timing as with one of my projects coming up in the very near future I am starting to research video editing options. Likely I am going to be doing my editing on Mac for a variety of reasons (common tool set, availability of the equipment, etc.) But I have been interested in Linux editing and what options currently exist. So was glad to see this pop up today.
