      Following the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Facebook has paused their investigation into working with hospitals to acquire "anonymous" health data that would then be matched to "anonymous" user data....

        Making all of it no longer anonymous, of course. A handy way to bypass both HIPAA and all user protections. Not only would Facebook get direct access to HIPAA protected data in a way that bypasses HIPAA protections, but then takes away all user knowledge or control of that data - including any way to even verify that the data is accurate.

            I bet the goal here was to sell this data to insurance companies to give them guidance on who to refuse to insure.
