Memchaced Source of New DDoS Attacks

This past week as seen some record DDoS attacks. It turns out, this might be something that we are facing for a while as the source is some ready to run exploits that leverage poorly patched and secured memcached servers, which are a pretty popular, but rarely talked about, component of many web and application servers. This new exploit makes large scale DDoS attacks surprisingly affordable.
