US Senate Staffers Access Cards Use Photo of Security Chip to Appear Secure
-
"Appear secure" to people fooled by photos of things, that is. Instead of implementing its own guidelines on two factor authentication, the Senate staffers are issues ID cards that grant them high "security" access while having a photo of something that looks kind of like a two factor authentication chip on it, but no actual chip. You know, because they only have to fool two year olds. Not sure which is worse, that someone worked so hard to bypass basic security practices, or that the government didn't figure it out.
