Budget Fair Queuing IO Schedules Coming in Linux 4.12



  • The BFQ I/O Scheduler has been in the works for Linux for some time and is finally expected to be committed in the 4.12 release. Schedulers are a less than sexy under the hood aspect of the kernel but one that can play a large role in performance or perceived performance as they control things like latency and throughput and prioritization decision making for processes.
