What is the cheapest processor anyone here can reccomend for a work PC?
-
Socket isn't a concern, but TDP below 100 watts would be good.
-
Really depends on the use case. Intel Atom are super super cheap. As are many embedded options.
If you want a certain level of functionality, AMD APU are quite cheap.
-
I'm looking at the Intel Pentium G3420, is that alright for some light multitasking and a lot of documents?
-
@Mike-Ralston basically everything is good enough for that today.
-
Yeah, I recommend just getting refurbished computers for most all offices these days.
-
How about some higher end work loads?

What would you recommend for an employee that's doing Level 1 and Level 2 tech work?
-
Pentium II - for that really annoying user

Here in the Philippines, Pentium IV is still gaining popularity hahaha! LOL! But it's true.

Really depends, if everything is old style apps an Atom would actually work fine. If all web apps, you need slightly more power as JavaScript in the browser is not the fastest, most responsive thing. RDP uses extremely few resources on the client end. Some VPNs need a little more oomph.
