VMware Workstation Permission Issue
-
You have started doing the "no spaces after a period" thing again in a few posts. Please be sure to make separate sentences or else the URL detection thinks that you have links all over the place.
-
Are you using the term "root" to mean / or /root?
-
You do not want VMs in the / path. Make a folder there called /data or /vms or something sensible. Then put the VMs there.

I have tried in /path and make directory as linux in /path and tried to install vm but the same permission error comes

You will still need to do a chown on the directory to make it owned by you.
But again, abandon VMware Workstation. This isn't going to be a good choice for you.

14.04 is quite old. 14.10 and 15.04 both replaced it and 15.10 is about to release.
