Change font, save millions

Check this out. Smart kid, interesting project. The only thing that gave me pause was the part where he printed out E's in different fonts on cardstock, cut them out, and weighed them. I'm wondering how he controlled the human error involved with cutting the E's out. It's pretty hard to make sure that the cut paper is exactly the same size and weight for each E, since we're talking about such small differences in weight of the ink on the paper. Is this just the scientist nerd in me, and other people aren't going, "wait, what?" At any rate, the kid makes a good point. I wish I was producing the homeschool stuff that I print out, then I'd switch to all Garamond.
Is anyone here in an industry where a ton of stuff is printed out?

Medical and legal primarily.

@Dominica Now that is interesting and a excellent observation by that student. Even used the Scientific Method. A+ to that kid.

Brilliant and practical thinking.

Now if someone could just invent digital storage so that we didn't have to print things out at all.

Wow that is crazy, that changing a typeface can save that much money.
