Russian Email host
-
Is there any concerns I should know about when looking at a email host located in Russia. In this case I'm looking at using Yandex custom domains which is free.

Not really anymore than anywhere else. Yandex is a pretty reputable company and I don't really have any concerns about them, any ones any different from Google anyway.
From a western perspective I realise that Russia seems like a very crime ridden place, especially cybercrime, but truthfully the US has more violent crime and fraud than Russia, the difference is that Russian crime is overreported in the US, but they do the same thing there.
When I was living there, the state run TV channel NTV basically never shut the hell up about NATO and the US. They're sort of like Fox News but run by the Kremlin, but RT/RussiaToday is also run by the Kremlin, but what's funny is how many Americans think it's gospel truth. It's a propaganda channel created for the English speaking world.
So no, nothing to worry about more so than any other major mail provider is my point.

I ended up just buying Office 365 Bussiness Premium since it's just for me. And I want to move away from gmail type services they are peaking in my email. Not that most of it's important but. I'm not one of those people who say you shouldn't care about people looking if you have nothing to hide. Privacy is a good thing regardless of what your doing. And Office 365 will be good integrate with my domain well.
@Minion-Queen You can message me NTGs partner ID and I'll add you all. Since I bought it direct I think you should still get something maybe? (It's one account so don't expect much)

I think Office 365 Business is pretty good, and I'm not even into Microsoft stuff that much

Same here, not a particular Microsoft fan but Office 365 is completely excellent. I'm not anti-Microsoft, I think that they do great work, but I'm no fanboy either. But O365 is their crown jewel, to be sure.

Well you know me, I'm one of those
idiotsgeniuses which uses M$ and Micro$oft all the time, I don't go around talking about how clustering for Micro$osft $QL $erver is easier to setup than other RDBMS, or the ease of clustering in the Microsoft environment in general with their various products compared to other things. We do have a mostly FreeBSD environment though.

I only have two minor complaints about it so far.
- Setup only works in IE.
- ActiveDirectory sync for users & SSO doesn't work on a domain controller without a GUI (core install) the sync tool will install. But you have to run a wizard from IE to complete it. It can't be completed from the tool. I guess I'll but it on my fileserver since I need to convert it to GUI anyway.
