No big surprise here, the winner is OpenSuse.

I went through it, nothing surprising. OpenSuse rocks. Ubuntu and Fedora and Mint all are high on the list. Pretty much nothing else matters.

Never been a KDE fan. Always preferred GNOME.

GNOME is great but OpenSUSE is just really pretty. I haven't used it for much or for very long but I liked it better than Kubuntu and some of the other distro's with KDE

I like about ten different desktops more than Gnome. Who even uses Gnome anymore? Fedora?

Ubuntu switched to Unity, which is as bad as it gets. GNOME was WAY better!

People complain too much about the interfaces. Do what Linux does best, pull out the bits you don't want and replace it with the bits you do.

No disagreement there. But that Unity is the worst and Gnome is better doesn't say much for Gnome. I still put it towards the bottom of any list of desktops. Especially with KDE taking back the lead in quality for the big, heavy desktops from it.

Cinnamon, MATE, KDE, LXDE and several others come way before Gnome for me.

Thankfully desktop environments are all a matter of preference. 😛
