I talked to two separate manufacturers today who told me about their drop shipping programs. They sound very appealing to me, but I am not sure how to handle the shipping. Each manufacturer I talked to said they can either ship direct to me or ship direct to the customer. With either option we are talking about $4-6 shipping.

My question is what if a customer chooses multiple products from multiple manufacturers when checking out? How can I manage the shipping costs properly?

Sounds like you need a table in the relational database that has a supplier column for each product in a product table. Then the supplier table can have a column for shipping costs.

You'd then use Php to grab the data and calculate.

The vendor is going to give me the exact weight of each item and told me to allow for a 10% variance. They generally ship at costs, so that variance should give me a little room and a tiny bit of profit.
