Most of those sounded nasty! Who wants to eat deep-fried butter?!
-
I'd have a go at most of that.
I felt my arteries hardening just looking though.

Yeah, the Texas State Fair has gained a reputation for the fried stuff getting pretty gross now. They've run out of good ideas mostly and are starting to do just anything for shock value. It's a fun little competition thing that they have, but it is weird and a bit over the top. They do produce a few new good ideas on a semi-regular basis, though. I believe that fried Oreos came from there.
-
I think the nastiest one was the peanut butter and banana cheeseburger though! EEWWW!!
-
Might be a shorter list if you went with things that don't get deep-fried in Texas
-
I can tell you that chicken fried bacon is amazing. That's the only one on his particular list I have personally comsumed, but we go to the state fair every year and so far my list of deep fried things @NetworkNerd and I have tried is fairly lengthy:
smores pop tart (pretty good)
snickers (AMAZING)
oreos (disappointing. the oreo was so fluffy and moist it scared me)
peanut butter and jelly and banana sandwich
truffles
reeses pb cups (was awesome, but they didn't give me both cups, only one.)
twinkie
peaches 'n cream
cookie dough (very good)
banana splitI think that's everything. Some great, some I wouldn't bother paying for again. I have some pics of some of it in my state fair Flickr album if you're curious.

Twinkies, Oreos and Snickers are "common" outside of Texas

I've had a deep fried Mars bar... once. Not keen to repeat it. Almost chundered it was so horrifically sweet.
(Au Mars bars are a bit different to US Mars bars)
Deep fried Ice Cream tastes pretty good though.
Deep fried banana was... different -
I am waiting on someone to develop deep fried bbq sauce. That just sounds yummy to me.

I'm not a huge fan of BBQ sauce, just in general. I'm still trying to get used to the fact that everything in ranch in Texas. Where I come from, it's bleu cheese, and for good reason! LOL

Do you guys have Sonny's House of BBQ in Texas? Or is that a South-east coast thing?

BBQ is one food that Texas does not import. You pretty much only get Texas BBQ in Texas.

I didn't think you did, it is a good southern-style restaurant on the south-east coast. Georgia, Florida, and I think South Carolina have it.
