Project Plans for the Holiday?
-
So with there being a holiday this week, what are your plans for projects for the holiday break? For many of us, it's only two days off during the week, but that means a 4-day weekend! I have a StorageCraft install I have had setup (and running, I think) for one of my VMs for a few months now (thanks Steven for that!) and I plan to give it a thorough test over the holiday. I plan to write at least 3 or 4 articles over the break. What are your plans?
Thanks,
A.J. -
Nothing major this weekend... but the 26th of December I am full bore with a migration.

What's the migration? @coliver

Finally got the local phone company to move our numbers from a PRI over to SIP Trunks... Only been waiting since early October... Turns out they need to do it when they have someone on staff (since you know having someone come in would be too much)...
So I will be moving from our legacy, out-of-support, and slowly failing Nortel system to a FreePBX based VoIP system.

I don't get alot of time off during the Christmas season. We just get Christmas and a leave a little bit early on Christmas eve.
However we do get all the bank holidays off

My place shuts down for three weeks over the Christmas/New Year break.
I'm not planning on filling my three weeks with a lot.

It's such an iconic holiday I figured people at least knew about it.

It's a local holiday and a floating one. And one that many countries have on a different date. So not one that people often know about. You are unlikely to be really aware of the equally iconic Canadian Thanksgiving or Guy Fawkes Days. (At least before GF became trendy and hipster in the US the last few years.)

No idea on Canadian Thanksgiving, but I've known about the Fifth of November for a long time...

We're upgrading from Epicor 9 to 10 and implementing RemoteApp for users at our remote sites at the same time. Woohoo!
That's 5 new servers on Server 2012 (1 SQL 2012, 3 Epicor application servers, and 1 RDS server).
