Ok, so no. I'm not dressing up in a fluffy pink bunny suit with a drum. Let's clear up that rumor to start. What I'm talking about is a trend my body seems to be in the past few months. I have spoken to doctors about it and no one has a clue, so I figured I'd post it here...

Basically, my body has one energy level. The moment I open my eyes, I'm wide awake and if I'm even slightly groggy, it's a miracle. My day starts about 7:30 or so. I get up and are alert and ready to go. This maintains throughout the day. I get home from work around 5:30 and considering I don't have much going on, I usually binge out on the latest TV show I'm working through. Once 2AM rolls around, I am finally feeling like I might be able to sleep. The weird part is, I'm not tired. I literally feel no different than the moment I woke up. I don't have crashes and highs throughout the day. I have been getting to sleep around 3AM lately, closing my eyes and getting to sleep, but not being sleepy or tired at all. This has been my life for months.

I usually have one glass of caffeinated soda in the morning and nothing after that. I'm on Adderall and I take a B-vitamin super complex. However, these are not what are giving me my energy. When I was unemployed, I went several weeks without the medicine or the supplement, and I hadn't started drinking caffeine again at that point. That's how I know it's not that stuff doing it.

It's a really freaking weird feeling. Sleep doesn't feel like it does anything. I feel like I could just keep going and going without sleep for days if I tried. It's so weird!

Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I know it's a shot in the dark, but while it's kinda cool, it's also kinda freaking me out...

      Thanks,
      A.J.

            Caffeine and Adderall = drugs

My serious answer is get physical exercise whenever possible. When you wear your body down physically, you will sleep better. You dont have to go for walks or runs, but it would be awesome if you could do it. If you dont see yourself getting on a jogging pattern. You could play your favorite sport like basketball or you could take up an outdoor activity like fishing or hunting which will give you exercise.

Ah cocaine, should have mentioned that. And that he is cutting it with meth.

Yes, exercise goes a long way to maintaining body healthy regulation.

I just took an "Are you bipolar?" quiz, not cause I thought I was, but because I was curious what questions were on it, and one of the questions was "do you feel like you don't need sleep, or have you ever had a period of time where you needed very little sleep, but were functioning normally."

As I said, I went weeks without anything, and there was no difference. Besides, the Adderall is out of my system after 8-10 hours anyways.

Yes, this is a typical symptom of mania. Believe me, I've considered this, but my doctor doesn't seem to think I'm having a manic episode.

I know I need to exercise but I haven't had the motivation to. What I need for that is a workout buddy to drag my ass to the gym, or someone I can tag team off of.

I think you need to be open to slightly changing your day a little bit at a time to see what might help.

@ajstringham Hmmm... well, doctors are not infallible, but the exercise suggestion is a good one. Try taking a walk in the evening.

True. No idea where I'll take a walk. Besides, I have no one to hang out with, so going for a walk is not something I think I can make myself do.

You don't have to have a workout buddy. What you need to do is start exercising for 5-10 minutes a day. After a few weeks you can increase it to 10-15 minutes a day. You can do this at home with absolutely no equipment. Here are 50 exercises you can do without any equipment

@ajstringham We used to walk along the trails in the green spaces. They are all over that area. Does your apartment complex have a gym? People would be there if you went at the right time, and then maybe you'd get some social in. How about walking to a restaurant instead of driving?

5 minutes of exercise is better than 0 minutes of exercise. Like @Dominica said, do something small to give yourself exercise

You could walk to Denny's or walk to get froyo.
