Happened to come across this product via another community.
http://www.papercut.com/tour/We often hear about companies wanting to track their printing via a central console and report usage, etc. This appears to have a free version for SMBs and home users that will do just that. Haven't tried it yet but it looks quite snazzy. Anyone have experience or thoughts on this?

@ajstringham Free sounds good!
We use this company who uses a program called PrintVault. We really like it

It's actually quite nice, and gives you some deep insight into actual printing costs. Great for schools. I started testing it in a lab setting 2 years ago and was loving it, but left that job before I got the OK to deploy it.

I've thought about deploying it a couple of times but just never got to it.

I had never heard of it until now. Looks like a really good piece of software for that kind of application.
-
It's got the ability to tie into a payment system to supply credits to students if you are in a college setting. But really the amount of functionality and data you can garner about printing in general is what makes it great.

@Bill-Kindle Bill's right, it is popular in schools. Topic comes up a bit in the SW areas. Wins out over competitors (Pharos, Equitrac, etc).
