CheckPoint Claims Recent Discovery of Old Malware

CheckPoint, the UTM maker, recently reported 250 million infections of Chinese-made Fireball trojans claiming to have recently discovered the malware. Microsoft hit back, according to Ars Technica, saying that they have been tracking the "recently discovered" malware for two years already and that the infection rate is only 40 million machines. Fireball is a Trojan horse and no threat to properly cautious users.
