Weird Headset Issue

Hey all,
I have an Avaya 9641G phone that I'm using with an EHS and Savi W730-M. The issue I'm running into is that the headset seems to have a mind of its own. Yesterday, I spent half an hour trying to get the headset to register a dial tone. The speakerphone worked always but the headset just would not connect. The Hookswitch setting is set correctly on the phone. But no matter what I did, it would not transfer that dialtone to the headset. I come in today, ready to call Plantronics. However, I hit the headset button on either the Savi base or the phone, or press the call button on the headset itself, and it just works. I've done it at least a dozen times in disbelief. Nothing has changed, to my knowledge. Any ideas?

Fully charged. I thought of that too. It's not a power issue.
