Senior Cisco Network Engineer to analyze and assess structures and behaviors of existing network systems including interior and exterior routing, communication links, QOS, multicast, traffic sharing, load balancing, tag switching, traffic compression, and other systems. Ability to plan, configure, and deploy Cisco's ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) in the department's datacenter backbone, and evaluate technology needs for the data center and assist with the migration strategy; Ensure technical solutions meet the needs of business such as speed, cost, performance, and security.
Proven experience installing, supporting and maintaining network hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, aggregates, switches, intrusion protection systems and firewalls as well as continuously identify, review, and recommend potential opportunities for enterprise cost-savings, service quality improvement, and operational efficiency; Develop operational strategies such as End of Life (EOL), applicable hardware/software product roadmaps, and vulnerability management processes
Working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications applications, such as CUCM, CUC, CER, UCCX, Presence, WebEx, Wireless, Video, etc.
Must have previous experience designing, implementing and supporting highly available, redundant UC/LAN/WAN solutions for large enterprise UC/LAN/WAN engagements and comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, LDAP, WINS, sniffers, Windows Server operating systems, network systems (Core switch and router fluency including 6500, 7600, 4500, 3900/3800, 2900/2800) Load Balancing, Firewalls, LAN, WAN and High Availability.
Experience configuring, managing, and deploying Cisco Data Center products including Nexus 7000/5000/2000, Firewalls and IDS.
