I have 5 barcode scanners. 3 are intermec 1800VT and 2 are Manhattan Sg300. I'm working with just the SG300's right now as they seem to scan better. The problem is I'm trying to do a custom config on them using the barcodes in the manual. usually super easy. Enter Config mode, scan your barcodes for you settings, save config, exit config. The problem is it takes the config and works great but as soon as power is lost (unpluged or otherwise) the config goes back to the defaults. any ideas?

        Sounds like a battery problem.

@scottalanmiller Oh, I guess I assumed they programed a ROM chip so no battery. I'll have to check.

I would have assumed a flash drive too, but if it is losing the setting on reboot, battery is more likely.

Found the problem. The manual weren't readily available online for them. Found an updated one and it worked. Seems the Save parameters barcode changed after a firmware update to them. Working great now.

Oh good, that was an easy solution 🙂
