I am having the Sony Laptop installed with the Windows 8 OS.I have installed the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS as the dual OS.
Now I am trying to install the Ubuntu OS as my base OS and format Windows OS.
I have made the Ubuntu OS as bootable in my pendrive.
Windows 8 uses UEFI mode and then I have changed UEFI to Legacy and tried to boot the system, the USB is booting but grub error comes.
When I tried to install the OS in my laptop there is grub error terminal comes in the screen.
How can i install the OS in the laptop now?

Try using BootRepair to fix your grub problems.

I have deleted the ubuntu OS from my laptop and Windows OS only using now.
Whether the boot repair CD will do the needful now.
Since the Ubuntu OS is not present in the laptop now only Windows OS is present in it.
Whether any drivers are needed to install for the Ubuntu OS?

Try the current Ubuntu too. Might be something that has been fixed since 14.04.
